My struggles to buy shoes on the highstreet started at a young age. I have a very traumatic memory of heading down to Clarks with my mum to buy my ‘magic key’ shoes for school. I skipped into the shop put my foot on the cold measure machine only to be told I had outgrown the childrens section. Aged 8 I was lead back downstairs to the leather adult section and shoe shopping was never to be the same again.
These days my shoe shopping is slightly less traumatic if only due to my expectations being lowered. I buy 90% of my shoes online at the usual retailers (Tall Girls, Long Tall Sally etc) but now and again its nice to try before you buy. Today I did exactly that and bought myself three pairs of summer pumps at Evans. I’m usually a UK10 but I bought all these in a 9 as they come up big.
